Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Software Engineer II - DevOps / Infrastructure onsite in Sterling, VA to join our SDS team delivering simulation and training solutions for critical missions.

The role requires a US security clearance and onsite work; you will own and optimize the CI/CD pipeline, automate build/deploy processes, and work with VMware/ OpenStack-like environments, GitLab/Jira/Confluence tooling, and cloud/virtualization technologies.

Qualifications

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD Pipelines.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware/Proxmox.
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Coverity, Nexus/Artifactory, and Splunk.
• Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.).
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs).

Responsibilities

• Support and develop automation solutions that enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently.
• Own the program’s CI/CD pipeline, optimizing code integration and delivery.
• Troubleshoot issues with build chains or CI/CD tools.
• Identify manual processes to automate with testing in CI/CD.
• Consider the whole CI/CD infrastructure when making changes.
