KTek Resourcing LLC in Santa Clara, CA seeks an onsite Data Center Technician to perform hands-on install, rack-and-stack, cable termination, and routine maintenance within a physical facility environment. You will diagnose basic server and network issues, manage patch panels, power backup systems (UPS), and coordinate with facilities teams to keep data-center operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure, servers, networking, and power systems.
Hands-on experience with copper cabling, patch panels, and network connectivity.
Understanding of power backup systems, such as UPS and redundant power supplies.
Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to provide on-site technical support.

Responsibilities

Understand copper cabling standards, including maximum cable length (typically 100 meters for Ethernet over twisted-pair copper).
Manage network connectivity, patch panels, cable termination, and cable troubleshooting.
Understand data center security features and access control procedures.
Troubleshoot power failures, server outages, and basic network connectivity issues.
Identify server types, understand their functions, and assist with basic hardware troubleshooting.
Provide hands-and-feet support, including physical hardware checks, cable connections, and equipment replacement.
Support day-to-day data center operations, infrastructure maintenance, and incident resolution.
