Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a Correctional Sentence Technician-F/C for Wakulla Correctional Institution. The role focuses on accurately assessing and classifying inmates, updating sentence details, and ensuring proper housing and programs to promote safety and rehabilitation.

The position requires reporting to the FDC office and involves complex coordination with defense attorneys, prosecutors, sheriffs, and clerks.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Official transcripts will be required if selected for this position.

Responsibilities

• Look at commitment documents to understand sentencing rules, update sentence information, and ensure release dates are correct.
• Collaborate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to fix mistakes in commitment documents and clarify sentences.
• Search the inmate information system to correct inmate identification and number assignments in OBIS.
• Review new commitments after intake to determine inmate numbers and recalculate release dates; inform Central Office of updates.
• Coordinate with Central Office staff to identify repeat offenders and document post-release supervision violations.
