Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections seeks a CORRECTIONAL SENTENCE TECHNICIAN-F/C at Wakulla Correctional Institution. This role supports accurate classification of inmates, housing and program placements to enhance safety and rehabilitation.

This non-telework position requires reporting to the local FDC office. Applicants must have a high school diploma and will undergo a Level 2 background check; Veterans' Preference considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Official transcripts may be required if selected.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents to update sentencing rules and release dates.
• Coordinate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Clerks to correct sentences.
• Search OBIS to fix inmate ID errors and ensure correct sentence details.
• Assess new commitments to assign or reuse inmate numbers and recalculate dates.
• Work with Central Office to identify repeat offenders and document policy changes.
