Job summary

Summit is seeking an experienced cook and driver for its correctional team in West Chester, PA. The role involves preparing food and transporting it to various locations on a set schedule, with on-site, full-time employment.

The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, knowledge of food safety, a valid state driver’s license, and experience in high-volume cooking from scratch. A food handler certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards.
• Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment and tools, as well as to identify and differentiate food items.
• High-level product knowledge and the ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A valid state driver’s license for the vehicle used for transport.
• At least one year’s experience in a high-volume establishment with an emphasis on cooking from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Performing food preparation and production tasks while following recipes and safe food handling policies and procedures.
• Ensuring proper portion and temperature control and proper storage of leftover food.
• Loading and transporting food products from one location to another according to an assigned schedule.
