Job summary

E Tech Group in Fairfield, CA seeks a Controls Engineering Manager to lead a growing team and oversee multiple projects in industrial automation. The role combines hands-on design of electrical and control systems with strategic growth initiatives across Life Sciences, Mission Critical, Metals & Mining, and other industries.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets and schedules, and drive project outcomes while aligning with executive goals and client expectations. Travel up to 30% is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years in industrial automation / controls integration
• 3+ years managing and leading a team
• Knowledge of standard engineering practices and procedures
• Ability to develop PLC and HMI programs in one or more languages (Schneider Electric, AVEVA, Rockwell)
• Experience with process controls instrumentation
• Ability to travel up to 30%
• Collaborative team player with a growth mindset

Responsibilities

• Develop growth plan with executive management, sales and marketing to drive business expansion.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical resources for project delivery.
• Design and implement integrated electrical and control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, production and field service teams.
• Oversee project budgets and schedules and ensure performance.
• Drive the team’s profit and loss on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
• Specify and configure hardware components and PLC/SCADA networks.
• Meet with key clients to ensure expectations are met and growth opportunities pursued.
• Represent the company’s core values and develop associates.
