Job summary

St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking a Supervising Professional Engineer in Apopka, FL to provide daily field oversight of district projects.

You will monitor contractor performance, enforce safety, manage documentation, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure work meets plans and contracts. The ideal candidate holds a Florida Professional Engineer license and has at least five years of construction management experience, including project delivery and contract

Qualifications

• Licensed with the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer.
• At least five years of construction management experience including role as Project Manager/Construction Manager/Engineer of Record for multiple projects valued >$1M.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field oversight to ensure work conforms with plans, permits, and contracts.
• Inspect and monitor contractor work, materials, and methods; verify quality and compliance.
• Identify and track deficiencies; direct corrective action and escalate as needed.
• Monitor schedules, progress, costs; document delays and budget issues.
• Enforce site safety requirements and environmental compliance.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and payment applications with Engineer of Record.
• Maintain daily records of site activities; produce reports.
• Lead or attend preconstruction and progress meetings; document minutes.
• Coordinate with Engineer of Record, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate project turnover, warranties, and closeout.
• Supervise inspectors and staff; assign work and evaluate performance.
