Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Engineer for our Connecticut-based commercial construction projects. The role supports PMs and field teams with coordination, document control, and cost tracking to ensure the on-time, within-budget delivery of complex builds.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in a related field and 3+ years of experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills to navigate multi-disciplinary coordination across education, healthcare, and industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant PM in commercial construction.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist PMs and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and execution.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawings, specs, and other docs for accuracy and timely distribution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support subcontractor scope reviews, buyout, and procurement processes.
• Track materials, equipment, and services and document changes.
• Assist with change orders, logs, and cost/schedule impacts.
• Contribute to project cost tracking and reporting.
• Review drawings to identify coordination issues and constructability concerns.
• Attend meetings and ensure decisions and action items are tracked.
• Support scheduling, progress updates, and project reporting.
