Job summary

AE Works is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager (onsite) to support federal healthcare infrastructure upgrades at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System campuses. You will provide senior leadership, oversee design and construction teams, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure compliance with federal standards.

You will collaborate with the VA Resident Engineer and COR, coordinating across contractors, designers, and users to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional license: RA or PE.
• Minimum six years in design and construction, medical facilities focus.
• Fifteen years direct experience; seven in managing construction projects.
• Ability to present three completed projects of comparable scale.
• Knowledge of local and federal construction requirements.
• OSHA 30-hour training and VA security awareness training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite supervisor for the construction management team and primary VA liaison.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, and changes for compliance and budget alignment.
• Monitor budgets, change orders, cost estimates, and pay applications.
• Oversee schedules, milestones, and critical activities; escalate slippages.
• Perform field inspections and testing oversight with independent agencies.
• Lead commissioning, issue tracking, and project closeout activities.
• Lead or participate in meetings and risk management planning; ensure documentation.
• Maintain Quality Management Plan and VA project-management systems.
