Legence is seeking a Construction Observer in Santa Monica, CA, to provide full-time field observation, documentation, and coordination for major wastewater pump station rehabilitation and reservoir improvement projects. The role requires on-site presence and close collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and adherence to contract requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in construction inspection, construction observation, or field engineering.
• Experience with public works, water, wastewater, reservoir, pump station, or municipal utility projects preferred.
• Experience using Procore or similar construction management software for daily reporting, photo documentation, quantity tracking, and project records.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, permits, submittals, RFIs, changes orders, and site conditions.
• Provide continuous on-site observation during all phases of construction, including daytime, nighttime, weekend, and extended hours.
• Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and approved changes.
