Job summary

Suburban Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Observer (Water/Wastewater Facilities) to conduct extensive on-site construction observation and act as the liaison between the Engineer and Contractors in multiple New Jersey project areas.

The role requires 6+ years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. OSHA certification is preferred or obtainable, with a comprehensive benefits package and a focus on safety and

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 6+ years of related experience.
• High School Diploma required; degree in related field preferred.
• State of New Jersey operator’s licenses preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site observations of construction progress to verify contract compliance.
• Attend pre-construction and job progress meetings as required.
• Document all on-site observations in a Daily Observation Report.
• Manage timely completion and filing of daily observation reports on a rolling weekly basis.
• Communicate proactively when items are unsatisfactory or non-conforming with contract documents.
• Coordinate with Project Manager(s) and staff to resolve field construction conflicts.
