Job summary

GoldenWolf, LLC is seeking a skilled Construction Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades at the Doris Miller VA Medical Center in Waco, TX. The role is onsite, full-time, with a base period of one year and two option years.

You will lead construction activities, oversee submittals, schedules, and field inspections, and collaborate with the commissioning team to ensure quality and compliance across complex healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field required and 3 years of CM experience OR 10 years CM experience.
• Knowledge of TJC, OSHA standards, VA technical design requirements.
• Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently evaluate contractor performance and coordinate across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the submittal review process in line with project specifications, VA standards, codes, and medical center requirements.
• Review and monitor construction phase schedules focusing on milestones, workflow, phasing, material deliveries, inspections, and testing dates.
• Monitor long lead material availability and communicate schedule impacts.
• Verify and update as-built drawings; ensure contractors maintain accurate redlines.
• Conduct field inspections, identify non-conforming work, generate daily inspection reports, and notify COR of corrective actions.
• Recommend actions to address construction issues and support field problem resolution.
• Assist the Commissioning Agent and General Contractor with commissioning activities per the Whole Building Commissioning Process Manual.
• Attend weekly/bi-weekly project meetings, maintain daily logs, support Government follow-up actions, and maintain records for conflict resolution.
• Assist with claims analysis and resolution by providing reports and participating in meetings.
• Conduct surveys, field investigations, change order assessments, RFI reviews, and coordinate owner-supplied equipment.
