Job summary

Planate Management Group is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades project at the Doris Miller Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Waco, TX. You will oversee submittals, schedules, field activities, inspections, and project documentation to ensure contract compliance and quality.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years in field construction, with at least 3 large-scale projects and hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• Ten years of progressive field construction experience; degree preferred but not required.
• Five+ years of verifiable field construction work, QA, and contractor monitoring.
• Prior hospital/healthcare facilities experience is required.
• Proficiency in construction management and scheduling software and standard office tools.
• Valid US driver’s license; ability to obtain VA PIV card and related privacy training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the construction submittal process to ensure compliance with specs, standards, and codes.
• Track long-lead materials, monitor schedules, milestones, workflow, and inspections.
• Attend progress meetings and follow up on Government action items.
• Verify and maintain as-built drawings and current project records.
• Perform field inspections, identify non-conforming work, report defects and corrective actions.
• Support commissioning activities and provide construction administration (RFIs, logs, COs, submittals).
• Assist in resolving issues with practical solutions and troubleshooting input.
• Must have hospital/healthcare facilities experience.
