Job summary

DAVIS is seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent II to coordinate onsite construction for assigned scopes, ensuring safety and schedule compliance. The role may involve supervising foremen and trade partners with limited oversight and requires proactive resolution of field and scheduling issues in collaboration with the project team.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree and two years of construction operations experience or a bachelor’s degree in construction management.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent years of relevant experience, plus two years construction operations experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Certifications for CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30-hour preferred.
• Experience with computer-based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily field operations for assigned scopes with the Superintendent, project team, and trade partners to maintain schedule and productivity.
• Reviews construction activities for compliance with contract documents, submittals, RFIs, tolerances, and quality requirements; identifies conflicts and escalates issues.
• Attends trade partner coordination meetings and supports resolution of field conflicts.
• Maintains accurate project documentation, including inspection reports, site photos, logs, and tracking of field-related documentation.
• Monitors progress and communicates schedule impacts, sequencing concerns, and constructability issues to supervisor.
• Applies and reinforces safety standards, proactively addressing unsafe conditions and promoting a culture of safety in the field.
• Uses construction software and field technology to manage documentation and track progress.
• Supports quality control by verifying work meets standards and escalating corrective action when needed.
