Job summary

DAVIS Construction seeks an Assistant Project Superintendent II to coordinate onsite construction for assigned scopes while ensuring safety and schedule compliance. The role may supervise foremen and trade partners with limited oversight and requires proactive issue resolution with the project team.

The candidate will drive daily field operations, review activities for contract compliance, attend coordination meetings, and maintain thorough documentation to support project success.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent years of relevant experience and two years of construction operations experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30-hour certifications preferred.
  • Experience with computer-based scheduling, spreadsheets, project management, and virtual construction software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily field operations for assigned scopes with the Superintendent and trade partners.
  • Review activities for compliance with contract documents, submittals, RFIs, tolerances, and quality requirements; escalate conflicts.
  • Attend trade partner coordination meetings and support resolution of field conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including inspection reports, site photos, logs, and field records.
  • Monitor progress and communicate schedule impacts, sequencing concerns, and constructability issues to the supervisor.
  • Apply safety standards and promote a culture of safety in the field.

The Assistant Project Superintendent II coordinates onsite construction for assigned scopes, ensuring work is completed safely and on schedule. The role may include supervision of foremen and trade partners, with limited oversight, and requires proactive identification and resolution of field and scheduling issues in collaboration with the project team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree or equivalent years of relevant experience and two (2) years construction operations experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field Certifications for CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30-hour preferred Experience with computer-based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Coordinates daily field operations for assigned scopes of work, working collaboratively with the Superintendent, project team, and trade partners to maintain schedule and productivity Reviews construction activities for compliance with contract documents, submittals, RFIs, tolerances, and quality requirements; identifies potential conflicts and escalates issues appropriately Attends trade partner coordination meetings related to assigned scopes and supports resolution of field conflicts Maintains accurate and timely project documentation, including inspection reports, site photos, logs, and tracking of field-related documentation Monitors progress of assigned work and communicates schedule impacts, sequencing concerns, and constructability issues to supervisor Applies and reinforces company and industry safety standards, proactively addressing unsafe conditions and promoting a culture of safety in the field Utilizes construction software and field technology to manage documentation, track progress, and support efficient operations Supports quality control efforts by verifying work meets project standards and escalating corrective action when needed

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is $78,000.00 - $95,000.00
