Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Commercial Security Installer to support installation, testing, service, and troubleshooting of low-voltage security and life safety systems in commercial settings. You’ll read blueprints, run low-voltage cabling, and coordinate with customers to complete installations.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, hands-on tool use, and a strong mechanical aptitude. This onsite position offers opportunities for advancement and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience with low-voltage, fire alarm, security, or electronic systems.
• Experience with device installation, terminations, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and security systems
• Perform device replacements, terminations, testing, and punch list work
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation schematics
• Run and terminate low-voltage cabling for security and life safety systems
• Test system functionality and verify proper operation
• Coordinate with customers to schedule and complete installations
• Complete required project documentation and service records
• Mentor and support junior technicians when needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
