Job summary

Axis Solar is hiring a Commercial PV Designer for a full-time, on-site role based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area. You will design commercial PV systems, develop layouts, select equipment, and model performance to meet project goals.

You will prepare technical documentation, support permitting and interconnection applications, and ensure designs comply with NEC, local codes, and utility requirements. Collaboration with engineers and procurement is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, or related field is required.
• Experience in commercial or utility-scale PV design is preferred.
• Proficiency with PV design tools and CAD software and producing clear drawings is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design commercial PV systems, including layout development and equipment selection.
• Perform performance modeling and site assessments.
• Prepare technical documentation and support permitting/interconnection applications.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, installers, and procurement teams.
• Ensure that designs comply with codes, standards, and utility requirements.
• Optimize designs for cost, efficiency, and constructability while maintaining safety and quality.
