Job summary

PanelClaw is hiring a Solar Designer to create solar PV mounting system layouts and project drawings for permitting and installation. You will prepare client-ready drawings, wind loading analyses, and technical documents while coordinating with sales, engineering, and customer teams.

The role emphasizes fast turnaround, accuracy, and strong communication. A hybrid setup in Massachusetts offers in-office days and flexible collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Two to five years related experience and/or training or bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Experience with Jira Service Management and Office 365 tools.
• Empathy, resourcefulness, and drive in client interactions.
• Comfortable engaging with diverse clients with varying tech skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• AutoCAD is required; PVsyst/Helioscope knowledge is a plus.
• Fluency in math and geometry.
• Commitment to Enstall Group mission and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Generate client-ready technical solar array drawings for commercial flat roofs.
• Create technical documents including wind loading and force analyses.
• Maintain expert knowledge of PanelClaw products and competitors.
• Manage and improve internal Excel and AutoCAD tools, templates, and processes.
• Review design documents for code compliance and accuracy.
• Interact with customers and sales on technical needs during permitting and installation.
• Identify and troubleshoot field problems.
• Communicate daily with customers to support clawOS and related services.
• Collaborate with design, clawOS, DevOps, Product Management, and Sales teams to meet requests.
• Understand local AHJ standards; travel as needed.
