Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing CNC Engineer to support high-volume machining and grinding operations. The role focuses on equipment, tooling, process improvements, and manufacturing process support in a fast-paced plant environment.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Engineering with 3+ years of CNC experience, proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and able to work off-shifts and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of CNC engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD is required.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes: ID/Grinding, OD grinding, drilling, milling and turning.
• Ability to work off shifts and weekends, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide CNC engineering support to manufacturing operations.
• Oversee CNC machining equipment for grinding, drilling, milling and turning.
• Maintain up-to-date manufacturing technical documentation.
• Provide technical direction to internal teams and oversee external vendors to meet quality and production requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve equipment efficiency and address downtime and quality concerns.
• Support day-to-day manufacturing operations and maintenance.
• Identify and address safety and ergonomic issues.
• Deliver training and develop technical manuals and work instructions.
• Participate in project planning to complete tasks on schedule and within budget.
