Job summary

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) in Tooele, UT is hiring for a manufacturing role focused on salvage, CNC machining, and quality control. The position requires the ability to read blueprints, use gauges and hand tools, and perform precise work in a fast-paced environment.

Overtime, weekends, and continuous improvement participation are expected. Starting pay is $21.85/hr with top pay $30.84/hr plus quarterly gainsharing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to use basic gauges, hand tools, and a tape measure accurately.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated individual who takes pride in personal and team development.
• Strong basic math skills including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform precise, high-quality work.
• Strong organizational skills with accurate recordkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.

Responsibilities

• Perform salvage and reclaim processes to core components.
• Machine new product to specifications for both internal and external customers.
• Setup, Run and read CNC programming machining centers using set up sheets.
• Interpret blue prints, work orders, production routers, BOMs, product manuals, and verbal instructions to accurately complete assigned tasks.
• Understand and comply with ISO 9001 requirements and company quality standards.
• Use a variety of hand tools effectively.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
• Interpret inspection results and apply machine offset corrections to achieve machining accuracy.
• Complete all required daily paperwork and maintain production boards.
• Conduct 5S audits and complete daily checklists.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements.
• Maintain a safe work area and report safety concerns.
