Job summary

Trillium Construction is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator for our Beaumont, TX office. This onsite role focuses on preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates for electrical utility and solar construction projects, collaborating with PMs, engineers, subs, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has a strong civil construction estimating background and can assess durations, sequencing, production rates, and methods.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of estimating experience in civil construction or related heavy civil industries.
• Experience preparing competitive bids from $50,000 to $10M+.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and single-line diagrams.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage the estimating process from RFP through bid submission.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs from plans, specs, and drawings.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and civil activities using estimating software.
• Estimate civil work durations, sequencing, production rates, and construction methods for utility and solar projects.
• Conduct pre-bid site visits to evaluate site conditions and project risks.
• Solicit, review, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare complete bid packages with scope narratives, exclusions, and alternates.
• Collaborate with project managers and field ops for seamless estimating-to-execution transition.
• Perform post-bid reviews to improve accuracy and competitiveness.
• Maintain historical cost databases and vendor relationships.
• Stay current on industry trends, material pricing, NEC updates.
