Job summary

Ackerman-Estvold is seeking a Boise-based onsite intern to support civil engineering and consulting teams. You will help transform design intent into buildable construction documents, contributing to quality client-aligned deliverables while gaining hands-on experience with experienced staff.

The role focuses on AutoCAD and Civil 3D workflows, field coordination, and effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. Seasonal, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering major (preferred)
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Strong written and verbal communication; willingness to learn; positive attitude
Able to perform field-related physical demands, including lifting 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

Support civil design and plan review for construction projects, including prioritizing requirements and tracking updates
Produce and refine design deliverables using AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Assist with site observations and coordination, documenting progress and follow-ups
Help keep project communication clear with internal teams and external stakeholders

Skills

Civil Engineering student (preferred)

Driver's license

Strong communication skills

Physical ability to lift 25 lbs; 50-lb

Education
