Job summary

Career Team in the Greater Memphis Area is hiring a Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services to participants eligible for workforce programs. You will guide jobseekers toward employment and training goals, remove barriers to success, and ensure accurate, compliant case management.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will perform intake and eligibility determinations, assess skill needs, liaise with community partners, enter data into WIT,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make well-thought-out decisions.
• Computer literate with MS Word and Excel; ability to learn databases and software systems.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse client base and be culturally sensitive.
• Ability to motivate clients toward achieving goals and meet/exceed targets.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of WIOA program and other workforce program requirements.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to community members interested in workforce services.
• Complete intake and eligibility determinations for assigned workforce programs.
• Assess jobseekers' employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing and testing.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce programs and community partners and resources.
• Enter data into WIT and process clients through participant information systems.
• Guide jobseekers through individual employment plans based on occupational goals.
• Stay informed on labor market trends and best practices in career and training paths.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities and training programs.
• Refer individuals to services and follow up on activities.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and job clubs for clients.
• Assist participants in removing barriers to employment and training.
• Maintain accurate case files and meet compliance requirements.
• Meet program benchmarks and participate in staff events and training.
• Complete required reports within the data management system.
