Job summary

UHP — Unlock Human Potential is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician to maintain and support our growing campus in Gentry, Arkansas. The role covers routine and preventive maintenance across multiple buildings and spaces, requiring mechanical inclination, safety-mindedness, and proactive issue resolution.

You will inspect systems, troubleshoot repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, and assist with openings, renovations, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in facilities maintenance or related hands-on roles is preferred.
  • General building maintenance and preventive maintenance practices knowledge is expected.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools, with basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and onsite work in Gentry, AR are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance across campus buildings, classrooms, offices, training spaces, and other facilities.
  • Inspect building systems and equipment to identify maintenance needs, wear, damage, or potential failures.
  • Troubleshoot and complete general repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical systems, doors, fixtures, lighting, and hardware.
  • Perform basic HVAC maintenance, including filter changes, system checks, and identifying issues requiring specialized service.
  • Address minor plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, fixtures, faucets, and other common repairs.
  • Replace lighting, switches, outlets, hardware, and other basic building components within appropriate training and safety requirements.
  • Complete drywall, painting, patching, carpentry, and other general building repairs as needed.
  • Maintain and service facility equipment, tools, and mechanical systems according to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues, equipment failures, leaks, utility concerns, or facility-related emergencies.
  • Track maintenance needs and communicate recurring or significant issues to Facilities leadership.
  • Assist with new building openings, renovations, equipment installations, and campus expansion projects.
  • Support outside vendors and contractors performing specialized repairs, inspections, or service work.
  • Maintain organized maintenance areas, tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Follow applicable OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and building codes.
  • Help ensure campus facilities remain safe, functional, professional, and ready for students, employees, and guests.
