American Electric Power is seeking a CAD designer at SG4 level for on-site work in Ohio or Tulsa. You will create, revise, and maintain engineering drawings, support facility and equipment documentation, and coordinate data from field notes and vendor drawings.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is required, with significant travel and occasional shift work. The role emphasizes safety, ethical behavior, and compliance with corporate policies, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualificações

• Associate degree in AAS drafting and CAD or related engineering technology with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent experience without AAS: high school graduate with 6 years of drafting/CAD experience.
• Travel requirements are >50% of the time.
• Must distinguish colors and have valid state driver’s license.
• Shift work or overtime may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings, sketches.
• Support creation, revision, and maintenance of facilities and equipment documents.
• Obtain information from verbal communication, sketches, field notes, vendors’ catalogs, and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations required for the work.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.
• Coordinate with other company units to ensure safe, efficient work.
