Job summary

Qualifications

Associate degree in AAS CAD or related engineering technology with 1–2 years experience.
Equivalent experience without AAS: high school graduate with 6 years electric utility drafting experience.

Responsibilities

Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings and sketches.
Obtain information from verbal, sketches, vendor catalogs and field notes to perform work.
Perform mathematical calculations and CAD using CAD software.
Use Microsoft Office software.
Coordinate with other organizations to ensure safe, efficient work.
Read vendor prints and incorporate information into work.
Train AEP employees in basic skills of the position.
Promote and support safety programs and corporate policies.
Be prepared for shift work/overtime and occasional overnight travel.
