Job summary

Talentify in North Reading, MA is seeking a Contract Buyer I to support the Buying Team by setting up new vendors and items, maintaining the product catalog and pricing, and coordinating new product launches. The role includes managing vendor relations, cost maintenance, and content updates for items, with a focus on accurate data and timely procurement.

The position requires 100% onsite work, collaboration with Planning, and involvement in open purchase orders, expedites, and delivery

Qualifications

• Experience in Supply Chain, Buyer, and Materials Planning.
• Proficiency in purchasing materials and equipment from suppliers.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships and KPIs.
• Skill in planning material requirements and managing inventory levels.
• Ability to develop efficient mechanisms for monitoring and updating purchase orders.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing materials and equipment from suppliers, including electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic components, PCB assemblies, hardware, and non-inventory items.
• Managing supplier relationships and KPIs reported to Supply Chain personnel.
• Providing inputs to monthly scorecards and presenting procurement data during quarterly business reviews.
• Planning material requirements, managing inventory levels, managing schedules in our ERP system, and communicating these requirements to suppliers.
• Identifying supply chain material risks and monitoring material flow transparently.
• Working collaboratively with Planning to communicate supply chain risks and mitigation strategies to end users.
• Developing efficient and accurate mechanisms for monitoring and updating open purchase orders, expedites, and delivery requirements.
• Assisting the Global Commodity Management team with maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring supplier performance, addressing supply issues, and developing new products and programs.
• Resolving PO receiving errors and assisting with invoice reconciliation.
• Managing supplier returns, including non-conformance reports, return material authorizations, and processing MRB material.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and leading cross-functional groups to execute improvements.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Detail-oriented with strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
• Understanding of data management and databases.
• Ability to work in a highly demanding, but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
