Job summary

Cypress HCM is assisting a medical device manufacturing client in Lowell, MA to hire a Buyer who will manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services onsite.

You will optimize inventory, develop supplier partnerships, conduct RFQs and negotiations, and ensure supply continuity via ERP/MRP systems while aligning with quality and safety standards. You will also collaborate with Engineering, Planning and Operations to meet changing demand and drive cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years in supply chain, procurement, or related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with Contract Manufacturing.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of MRP/ERP and procurement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials, supplies, equipment, and services across assigned categories.
• Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to support operations.
• Conduct RFQs, cost analyses, and negotiations for best price and quality.
• Ensure material availability with effective inventory control and stock levels.
• Review MRP outputs to determine purchasing needs and optimize costs.
• Maintain purchasing records and supplier data within ERP systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Customer Service, Planning, and Operations.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and implement improvements.
• Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
