Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking an Onsite Building Maintenance Technician to keep mechanical systems operational and common areas clean and safe. You will perform light handyman tasks, inspect HVAC, plumbing, and fire alarm systems, and complete daily work orders across the property.

The role requires strong customer service, problem solving, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment. A full-time schedule with potential overtime and a benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred and two years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer skills
• Knowledge of iPhone and applications

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the building(s).
• Assesses repair needs and estimated time needed for repairs; evaluate problems to determine if professional assistance is needed.
• Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation within design specs.
• Routinely walks floors including roof checking for problems and lights out and reports to supervisors.
• Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains working relationship with building staff.
• Painting of all common areas and touch up may be required; inspect areas that need paint and advise manager.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
• Properly performs casual labor and follows safety procedures.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
