Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Maintenance Staff Member to ensure that all mechanical systems and building areas are well maintained and clean. You will inspect floors, roofs, lights, and fixtures, report issues, and perform preventive tasks in a fast-paced property environment.

The role requires 2+ years in building trades, strong communication, and customer service skills. You may lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying conditions; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2+ years general experience in building trades, repair and maintenance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Multilingual fluency desired.

Responsibilities

• Routinely walks floors including roof checks for problems and reports to supervisors.
• Ensures safety precautions are followed while performing work.
• Maintains working relationship with building staff.
• Paints common areas and performs touch ups; inspects and advises on painting needs.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Maintains assigned equipment in good condition.
• Performs minor maintenance in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, flooring and other repairs via daily work orders.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
• Uses new equipment properly and follows safety procedures prior to use.
