Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to respond to on-site service calls in the Appleton, WI area, evaluating and repairing basic biomedical equipment and performing PM inspections. You will work with teammates to ensure equipment safety, regulatory compliance, and high customer satisfaction.

The role requires a relevant engineering degree or military equivalent, with willingness for after-hours on-call coverage and driving to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues; perform repairs and PM inspections.
• Assist more experienced technicians on basic and more complex repairs.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and customers.
• Follow GE policies, hospital protocol, and document activities.
• Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
• Support GE/customer facility contracts and business goals.
• Work with the local team to deliver efficient service within the area.
• Be prepared to share on-call responsibility.
• Document all repair actions and submit reports on schedule.
• Care for spares, tools, and test equipment; ensure calibration.
• Maintain knowledge of current standards and safety procedures.
• Use manuals, tech support, Facetime, and online resources to answer questions during PM.
• Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety and regulatory requirements.
