Job summary

GE HealthCare in Asheville, NC seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to respond to service calls within a hospital setting. You will evaluate, diagnose, and repair biomedical equipment and perform planned maintenance to ensure patient safety and equipment uptime.

This onsite role requires strong communication, thorough documentation, and a willingness to work on-call; you will collaborate with hospital staff and GE teams to deliver reliable service and meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent military education, or 2+ years of relevant service experience.
• Analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
• Knowledge of electronic circuitry and electro-mechanical devices; ability to interpret schematics.
• Willingness to work onsite, pass background checks, and comply with immunization and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls in hospital/healthcare settings; diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
• Assist more experienced technicians and support teams on repairs.
• Maintain proper documentation and communication with customers and GE teams.
• Work as part of a local service team and potentially handle on-call duties.
