Job summary

GE HealthCare in Tampa Bay is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to respond to service calls, diagnose and repair basic biomedical equipment, and perform planned maintenance on customer hospitals. The role is on-site at customer locations; drives customer satisfaction through service excellence and requires after-hours/on-call availability, valid driver's license, and compliance with GE policies.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in Electrical/Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent military education.
• Analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues to customers clearly.
• Willingness to be available after hours or on-call, including weekends when needed.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain license.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate basic biomedical equipment issues and perform repairs.
• Carry out PM and safety/environmental inspections as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with customers and teammates.
• Follow GE policies and hospital procedures and complete required documentation.
• Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure satisfaction and proper follow-up.
• Work with local team to provide efficient service delivery.
• Document all repair actions and submit reports on schedule.
• Ensure calibration and proper care of spares, tools and test equipment.
