Job summary

INA Solution in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a hands-on Battery Test Engineer to support validation and characterization of cells, packs, charging systems, and related power electronics. This role focuses on planning, executing, and reporting laboratory tests in a fast-paced hardware lab.

The ideal candidate has 5–12 years in battery testing, strong data-analysis skills (Python/MATLAB), and the ability to read schematics and datasheets, while maintaining safety and meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Working knowledge of battery fundamentals: chemistry, capacity, internal resistance.
• Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and electrical measurement.
• Ability to read schematics, power trees, and datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute battery characterization tests: charge/discharge cycling, capacity, internal resistance, load sweeps, and temp behavior.
• Operate lab instrumentation and maintain safety standards.
• Perform bench bring-up, functional testing, and characterization of power supply circuits and rails.
• Build and maintain test fixtures, harnesses, and instrumentation for cells, packs, chargers, and rails.
• Capture, process, and analyze test data; summarize findings in reports.
• Support charging-system, fuel-gauge, and battery-management validation.
• Assist in root-cause investigations of power/battery issues.
• Document test plans, procedures, and results; keep organized data records.
• Follow battery-handling, storage, and lab-safety protocols.
