Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts presents an exciting Banquet Server role at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort, part of the Cavalier Resort campus. You will assist the Banquet Manager, set up banquet spaces, greet guests, and serve food and beverages to ensure a positive, seamless event experience.

The position calls for hotel or banquet experience, team spirit, strong guest relations skills, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be a team player and assist coworkers.
• Basic knowledge of food & beverage, service standards and etiquette.
• Knowledge of proper table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Effective verbal and written communication; adaptable with different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist Banquet Manager in serving guests during banquet functions.
• Set up banquet room with linen, serviceware and glassware as directed.
• Attend roll calls to learn function particulars and guest expectations.
• Greet guests, respond to requests, and maintain courteous service.
• Serve food and beverages and replenish as needed; clear and reset between courses.
• Adhere to all alcohol service rules and sanitation standards.
