Job summary

Marriott Virginia Beach is seeking a courteous Banquet Server to support events on our oceanfront property. You will assist in banquet setup, greet guests, serve courses, and ensure consistent service aligned with hotel standards.

Expected to contribute to a team of colleagues, handle beverage service, and maintain clean, organized banquet spaces. Prior hotel or food-and-beverage experience is preferred, with strong guest relations and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers.
• Knowledge of table settings and serviceware.
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs in a crowded room.
• Ability to stand for long periods and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room as instructed, including linen, glassware and serviceware.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages according to supervisor expectations.
• Reset banquet room for the next function and maintain cleanliness.
• Adhere to state, federal and corporate alcohol service requirements.
