Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Universal Banker to join our on-site team in Santa Ynez, California. You will handle basic to moderately complex banking transactions, open consumer and business accounts, and identify opportunities to refer banking products and services.

You will excel in customer service, cash handling, and accurate processing while adhering to policies and regulations. The role emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and community engagement within a retail banking environment.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
• Minimum of 1 year banking and cash handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine teller transactions and works directly with customers, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, transfers and related tasks.
• Promotes deposit and lending products, delivering excellent service in person and over the phone.
• Maintains cash handling accuracy, balances cash, reviews transactions for red flags and follows security procedures.
• Gathers data and completes compliance tasks and reports, ensuring adherence to Bank policies and regulatory requirements; travel 10–20%.
