Job summary

The Hertz Corporation in Hilo, HI is seeking an Onsite Automotive Technician to perform diagnostics and repairs, maintain vehicles, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced shop. This role calls for leadership within the maintenance team and the ability to work independently or with colleagues.

You will handle preventative maintenance, use lifts and scan tools, and contribute to ensuring peak vehicle performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade school preferred.
• At minimum three (3) years of vehicle maintenance experience
• ASE Certified and State Safety Inspection License preferred

The Onsite Automotive Technician is the top of our maintenance team with a focus on diagnostic and repair. This role will work to keep all equipment in running condition through our effective preventative maintenance program, as well as taking on the responsibility of handling complex repairs such as engine and transmission overhauls. This position is a master technician and assumes a leadership role with product knowledge and a standard of quality.

What You'll Get:

• Hourly Rate is $26.50 + median incentive is approximately $449/month, varies based on job performance
• Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 ($1,500 paid at 180 and 360 days of employment)

Educational Background:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Trade School Preferred
  

Professional Experience:

• At minimum three (3) years of vehicle maintenance experience
  

Knowledge:

• Must be able to perform vehicle repairs without oversight
• Ability to repair vehicles independently, while also having experience working well in a team environment
• Experience using shop equipment such as lifts, tire changing equipment, alignment machines, and scan tools
  

Additional Notes:

• Must have tools to perform necessary repairs
• Must have a Valid Driver's License
• ASE Certified
• State Safety Inspection License
