Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Assistant Controller in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to join a well-established construction company. This fully onsite role reports to the Controller and will broaden exposure across accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls within a project-driven environment.

The candidate will work with Sage 300 and Procore, supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and project accounting for approximately $60–$80 million in active projects.

Qualifications

• Progressive accounting experience at Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or comparable level.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems; Sage 300 is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller with day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support accounting activities for construction projects valued at $60–$80 million.
• Maintain accurate project accounting and job-cost information.
• Collaborate with accounting, project management, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial data.
