Job summary

The InPerson Interpreter (IPI) will facilitate on-site communication for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (HOH) in medical settings using the AMN InPerson Interpreting app. This freelance position is flexible and expands your interpreting business with access to many sessions per day.

AMN Healthcare Language Services provides an on-site interpreting team nationwide, seeking credentialed interpreters to join as independent contractors.

Qualifications

• National certification at or above NAD level 4 and other major credentials.
• Familiarity with NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf Culture ethics.
• HIPAA Training completed within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
• Exhibit professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness for shifts.
• Adapt quickly to new and changing technologies used in the app and workflow.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements for medical contexts.
• Respect LEP clients and cultural differences during medical procedures.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpreting passion.
