Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a large, multiyear highway program in Lakeland, FL. You will work with the project manager on planning, subcontracts, and contract administration to keep the project on budget and on schedule.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects, a related four‑year degree, and strong submittals/RFIs experience. Relocation to Central Florida is welcome for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or APM
• Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil Engineering
• Solid with submittals, RFIs, quantities and pay estimates
• FDOT or Turnpike experience is a plus
• Clear writer and communicator under schedule pressure
• Based in Central Florida or ready to relocate to Lakeland area
• Primavera P6, HCSS or Bluebeam experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager on cost, schedule and resource planning
• Administer subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinate subs and suppliers
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change order paperwork with the owner
• Track quantities, pay items and monthly pay estimates
• Coordinate crews, material and equipment with the superintendents
• Keep permits, licenses and project documentation current
• Help update the schedule and the cost forecast
• Back the field on safety and quality
• Report progress to the project manager and the owner
