Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a large multiyear highway program in Lakeland/Polk County. This onsite role supports the project manager with planning, contracts, and schedule adherence on state highway work.

Local Central Florida candidates and relocations are welcome. The ideal candidate has 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects and a four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or APM.
• Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil Engineering.
• Solid with submittals, RFIs, quantities and pay estimates.
• FDOT or Turnpike experience is a plus.
• Clear writer and communicator under schedule pressure.
• Primavera P6, HCSS or Bluebeam is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager on cost, schedule and resource planning.
• Administer subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinate subs and suppliers.
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change order paperwork with the owner.
• Track quantities, pay items and monthly pay estimates.
• Coordinate crews, material and equipment with the superintendents.
• Keep permits, licenses and project documentation current.
• Help update the schedule and the cost forecast.
• Back the field on safety and quality.
• Report progress to the project manager and the owner.
