Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a large multiyear highway program in the Lakeland/Polk County area. The role involves supporting the project manager on cost, schedule, subcontracts, and coordination with crews, suppliers, and field staff.

This is a great step for a Project Engineer ready to move up or an APM seeking a major program with stability. Ideal candidates have 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects, a relevant four-year degree, and strong

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil highway or bridge projects in a Project Engineer/Field Engineer/APM role.
• Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Civil Engineering.
• Solid with submittals, RFIs, quantities and pay estimates.
• FDOT or Turnpike experience is a plus.
• Clear writer and communicator under schedule pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the project manager on cost, schedule and resource planning.
• Administer subcontracts and purchase orders, and coordinate subs and suppliers.
• Manage submittals, RFIs and change order paperwork with the owner.
• Track quantities, pay items and monthly pay estimates.
• Coordinate crews, material and equipment with the superintendents.
• Keep permits, licenses and project documentation current.
• Help update the schedule and the cost forecast.
• Back the field on safety and quality.
• Report progress to the project manager and the owner.
