Job summary

Lee Hecht Harrison Recruitment Solutions in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Accountant to support a broad range of general accounting activities. This hands-on role includes journal entries, reconciliations, close processes, A/P, financial analysis, and reporting.

The position is 100% onsite with a pay range of $65,000 to $80,000 annually. It is a temp-to-hire opportunity with the intention of hiring a long-term employee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least three years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Experience supporting monthly and annual close processes.
• ERP exposure preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including lookup formulas and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines independently.
• Experience working with an ERP or similar accounting system is preferred.
• Previous audit support or multi entity accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and record journal entries.
• Complete monthly balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Process complex intercompany accounts payable transactions.
• Review payable activity for sales tax, use tax, coding accuracy, and supporting documentation.
• Research discrepancies and resolve accounting or payment-related issues.
• Process employee travel and expense reports in accordance with established policies.
• Review and reconcile transactions between affiliated entities.
• Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records.
• Assist with audit requests and financial reporting activities.
• Analyze financial information and investigate unusual account variances.
• Use Excel to organize, reconcile, and evaluate accounting data.
• Partner with internal departments to obtain accurate and timely financial information.
• Perform purchase order and inventory reconciliations.
• Support additional accounting projects and process improvements as needed.
