Job summary

Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. in Desert Center, California, seeks an experienced Aggregate & Materials Laboratory Manager to lead our AMRG lab operations.

You will supervise staff, manage sampling, testing, and QA/QC, ensure compliance with ASTM/AASHTO standards, and coordinate with plant and operations to optimize product quality. The role requires a BS in a technical field and 5+ years in an aggregate lab, with strong leadership, reporting, calibration, and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent lab experience.
• 5+ years progressive aggregate/materials lab experience.
• Experience supervising laboratory technicians and QA/QC.
• Strong knowledge of sieve analysis, gradation, moisture and density testing.
• Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO testing procedures.
• Ability to interpret test results and communicate findings to operations.
• Experience with calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab equipment.
• Leadership, organization, scheduling, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the aggregate and materials laboratory.
• Supervise technicians and provide training and feedback.
• Coordinate workload with production, quarry, and operations.
• Oversee sampling, labeling, tracking, and preparation activities.
• Perform sieve analysis and gradation testing against specs.
• Maintain QA/QC programs and documentation.
• Generate laboratory reports for management.
• Coordinate with third-party labs when required.
