Job summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. seeks an Iron & Mineral Processing Laboratory Manager to lead and coordinate laboratory operations in Desert Center, CA. The role oversees iron, metallurgical, and analytical lab functions, ensuring safety, QA/QC, and timely testing.

The candidate will supervise technicians, develop SOPs, manage equipment, and translate results into production improvements. A related degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry, Geology, Mining or related field.
• 5+ years in lab/metallurgical/mineral-processing industry.
• Experience supervising lab personnel and workflow.
• Strong QC, data integrity, documentation.
• Ability to coordinate multiple testing disciplines.
• Lab equipment management and vendor coordination.
• Leadership, organization, communication, problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for iron, metallurgical, mineral-processing, and analytical lab functions.
• Coordinate priorities, staffing, workflow, testing schedules, and equipment utilization.
• Supervise technicians and coordinate with engineers and operators.
• Develop SOPs, QA/QC programs, and reporting practices.
• Oversee sample handling, preparation, and distribution logistics.
• Ensure safety, calibration, maintenance, and QA compliance.
• Translate lab findings into actionable production decisions.
