Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Structural Welder for launch hardware in Gainesville, FL. The contract role involves high-precision structural and pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, using FCAW, GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW.

You will read drawings, fabricate weldments to exact dimensions, follow codes, and support a safety-focused, productive team. Pay is $30–$32 per hour with a $125 per diem; multiple shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 1 year of experience welding in a manufacturing environment using FCAW or GTAW on SCH 10 pipe.
• Hands-on experience with FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum structural shapes, tubing, and piping.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Skill in cutting, trimming, fitting, and fabricating weldments to precise dimensions.
• Strong understanding of welding safety practices and proper use of welding tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW.
• Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate weldments to precise dimensions for launch hardware.
• Collaborate with lead welder to apply proper weld procedures and filler rod sizes.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for welding operations.
• Prepare tube and pipe for welding with cutting, grinding, and fabrication.
• Ensure welds meet welding codes and standards and maintain craftsmanship.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to reduce turnaround times and streamline processes.
• Work with fabrication team to support efficient production.
• Perform other duties to maintain a safe, organized work environment.
