Job summary

Aerotek seeks an experienced welder for launch hardware fabrication in a climate-controlled facility in Cocoa, FL. You will perform high-precision structural and pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum using FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW processes.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, applying proper weld procedures, and ensuring code-compliant weldments. Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential for this contract position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience welding in manufacturing using FCAW or GTAW on SCH 10 pipe.
• Hands-on experience with FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum shapes, tubing, and piping.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Cutting, trimming, fitting, and fabricating weldments to precise dimensions.
• Strong welding safety practices and proper use of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and pipe welding using FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum shapes, tubing, and piping.
• Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate weldments to precise dimensions for launch hardware.
• Collaborate with lead welder to apply proper weld procedures and filler rod sizes.
• Review and interpret drawings and specifications to plan welding operations.
• Apply advanced fitting techniques to prepare tube and pipe for welding.
• Ensure welds meet codes and standards with high craftsmanship.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to reduce turnaround times and improve processes.
• Work with fabrication team to support production of launch hardware.
• Perform other related duties to maintain safe and productive environment.
