Job summary

Aerotek in Hollywood, SC is seeking a Welder for a contract-to-hire role. You will perform structural welding on large steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment, reading blueprints and fabricating to project specifications.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in structural, flux-core and pulse welding, including stainless steel, and can work in an open-air non-climate-controlled shop. Pay ranges from $26.00 to $31.00 per hour, with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in structural welding.
• 3–5+ years in flux core welding.
• 3–5+ years in pulse welding (MIG pulse).
• 3+ years of experience in shipyards or related fields fabricating and welding large steel components for NAVSEA-related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication.
• Strong fitting skills for large structural steel components.
• Knowledge of NAVSEA-related fabrication and welding requirements.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a non-climate-controlled, open-air shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on large steel components.
• Join, fabricate, and repair metal per project specs and quality standards.
• Fit and assemble various large structural steel components prior to welding.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to complete tasks.
• Work with stainless steel and other materials as required.
• Inspect welds for quality and adherence to standards, making adjustments as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in safe condition.
• Follow safety procedures in an open-air, non-climate-controlled environment.
• Collaborate with other welders and fitters to meet production schedules.
