Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Clinical Practitioner) to join the medical clinic team at the Livermore site. The role includes diagnostic assessment, treatment, and referrals as the clinical team lead, with responsibilities in occupational and non-occupational care and education for employees.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing and at least 10 years of nursing experience, including 5 years as a nurse practitioner.
• Minimum 3 years in occupational medicine and direct clinical patient care experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain CA, NM, NV nursing licensure and a DEA license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic assessment, treatment, and referral as required for occupational and non-occupational illness and injury while serving as clinical team lead.
• Perform medical surveillance, interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and make independent health care assessments and referrals.
• Research and report on a variety of medical issues, practices, and conditions as required.
• Provide consultation to management and employees regarding travel, return to work, work accommodations, or other occupational medicine processes.
• Respond to medical emergencies onsite using BLS and ACLS to stabilize until transport is available.
• Coordinate care with case managers.
